How to Update Hyundai Navigation System

The navigation system in your Hyundai Elantra or Santa Fe can helppinpoint your exact location in Hobbs, NM and guide you to your next destination. But to make sure the system will work like a charm every time, the system needs to be updated to access the most current and accurate information. If it’s been a while since the last update, learn about the three options you can go about it below.

Option 1: Visit the Service Center at Group 1 Hyundai Hub City

The next time you bring your Hyundai in to our Lubbock dealership for its scheduled maintenance, ask our certified service technicians to update the navigation system for you. This is the easiest and most convenient way to upgrade the system. Just schedule a service appointment and let us know that you’d like to update the map data and we’ll take care of it for you!

Option 2: Purchase a New SD Card

If your Hyundai vehicle stores its navigation information in an SD card, you can order a new updated SD card and install it yourself. Do the following to order a replacement SD card:

1. Go to https://www.mapnsoft.com/hyundai and create an account if you do not already have one. 
2. Select the model and year of your Hyundai and click “Log In.”
3. In the right column, select “Order new SD card through mail (shipping costs apply),” then click “ADD TO CART.”
4. On the Shopping Cart page, enter your address, then click “Get a Quote.” The tax based upon your location will be calculated and added to the purchase price. Then, click “PROCEED TO CHECKOUT.”
5. Enter your account information and confirm that the billing, shipping, and payment information is correct.
6. When the SD card arrives in the mail, remove the current SD card and exchange it for the new one. Check your owner’s manual to find the location of your SD card slot.

Option 3: Download and Install

The last option is to to download and install the map update yourself. You’ll need access to the vehicle, the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), an internet connection, and a Windows PC with at least 20 GB of space. Note that smartphones and iOS systems are not compatible for downloading the Hyundai map update. Follow these steps to download and install:

1. Go to https://www.mapnsoft.com/hyundai and create an account if you do not already have one. 
2. Select the model and year of your Hyundai and click “Log In.”
3. In the right column, click the selection beginning with “Download map software.”
4. Download the Hyundai Map Software Manual pdf to get the download instructions specific to your Hyundai model and year. Save to an adjacent tab.
5. Click “ADD TO CART.”
6. On the Shopping Cart page, add your delivery information. Click “Get a Quote.” Once the tax has been added, click on “PROCEED TO CHECKOUT.”
7. Enter your account information, confirm your order, and click on “DOWNLOAD.”
8. Follow the directions on the Download Map Software Manual pdf.
